Intel Quad
What is a more powerful processor and faster, Intel Quad II or AMD Phenom X4?

Please NO i7. I buy extra equipment for me. I need to know if I should get an Intel or AMD. I heard that Intel Quad is not a true quad core, but AMD is. Help please!

Performance Core 2 Quad 9000 Phenom II 900 series are very similar. Core 2 Quad is faster clock for clock, Phenom II, but has a higher clock speed of the actions to compensate. The performance difference between the two is negligible, but is less expensive Phenom II. Core 2 Quad is a quad-core CPU. It has four physical cores. However, design is not a native quad-core. It is essentially two double heart melted on the same chip. Phenom I, II and Core i7 Phenom is native quad-core designs. Ultimately it makes no difference to the consumer, however. We care about performance and price, not the architectural details. If I had to make a recommendation Quad Core CPU to offering the best price / performance, I recommend the AMD Phenom X4 II 940. This is not faster (or slower) than its competitor, the Q9400 Core 2 Quad, but it's cheaper is $ 30.
