How do I enable large disk in WinXP Pro?
I try to install a 320 GB hard drive in my new PC. Unfortunetly the Win XP CD I is the original XP (before SP1) and is limited to my 137GB HD. I updated the operating system with SP2 and all other critical updates and non-critical but not yet can get the operating system to recognize the HD. My motherboard recognize the disc so there is no problem with the BIOS. I tried to edit the registry, by adding the EnableBigLba settings section and still no luck, unless they add to the poor section. I would appreciate any comments PC gurus here. Thank you all in advance.
It is possible that the version of XP that you can create a 137 GB NTFS partition. Get software like Norton Partition Magic, if the partition size is the case that this can be expanded so that it occupies in the entire disc. You can also create a separate partition to store your files appear as another disk.
